Sidney Osioh

Sidney Osioh hails from Sapele in Delta State, Nigeria. He received his professional ducation at both Ogwashi-Uku polytechnic Delta State Where he holds a National Diploma ( N.D ) in painting and general arts and the prestigious Colourist School, Auchi polytechnic Auchi, Edo State where he graduated with a Higher National Diploma ( H.N.D ) 2011 and 2015 respectively. Sidney received a certificate of participancy from both the society of Nigerian Artist ( S.N.A ) and the annual life in my city art festival ( LIMCAF )2012 and 2015.

 He retired immediately to full-time studio practice after a year service to his nation as a member of the National youth Service Corp ( N.Y.S.C ) at Zamfara State Nigeria, after his service to the nation he relocated to Lagos where he acquired the skill in stained glass painting at Mike Ikobi’s Studio in 2016. In the later end of September, 2016 Sidney experimented on a style he later developed into what he calls “ SKINDO “ Skindo is a style in painting or drawing and aims at lightening and enlightening the inner mood and feelings of its viewers. On the 10th of March, 2008 he participated in the first edition of Next of kin an annual group exhibition held at thoughts pyramid gallery Ikoyi, Lagos Nigeria. In 2018 his works were exhibited in the West-African Annual International Art Fair ( Art X ) in Lagos Nigeria . 

Furthermore, his works was shown in the 2019 Sogal Art Auction in signatures Beyond Art Gallery in Lagos. Sidney Osioh currently lives in Lagos as a Full-Time Studio Artist.


Sidney Osioh is a visual Artist, who have developed an identity in the art industry which he calls skindo Art which enable the artist to express his thought through colors, lines and images. I believe Artistic greatness has nothing to do with class, Age but total commitment and dedication to work and prayer.


Curator's Note

After the George Floyd protest in the United States of America, a spotlight beams on Nigerian art or black art. 

 As more national and international discussions have centered around Black Art, "Colors of the Uprising" is a group art exhibition curated to expose and celebrate 11 uprising stars. 

 We warmly welcome you to "Colors of the uprising" , a group exhibition distinctively curated by Princess Uzo & Rodney Asikhia, featuring the amazing art by: Wande Oseni, Karen Ogidi, Sidney Osioh, Ekwueme Edison, Adeola Adegbenro , Kolawole Niyi Sunday, Dudu Emmanuel, Donald Onuoha, Ekpetorson Elizabeth, Anehita Aletor , & Ene Jessicah Yaknoabasi.

 Artists in this exhibit share their interpretations of the natural world around us, whether it be on portraits, people, abstract forms, Landscape from nature scenes, and Surreal impression.

 Their creations challenge our ideology of life, adds beauty and spark up intellectual dialogue amongst its viewers. The works exhibited comprises of various mediums such as Oil on canvas, Mixed media, Acrylic on canvas, Charcoal and drawing in various sizes. 

 The exhibition will present 55 works of Art to its audience, documented with a virtual Catalog with access to attend the event virtually.

Private viewing on opening day: Friday, Feb 28th, 2021 by 6pm.
